About the Church Of Christ
The Church of Christ focuses
on
the Holy Scriptures of the Bible. The God we worship is so powerful that when He spoke, the universe came
into existence, Psalm 148:3-5. This creator chose to communicate with the human
race through the only means that could be preserved — the written
word, Psalm
12:6-7; He promised that His word would last forever, Isaiah 40:8. Since it
is impossible for Him to lie, Hebrews 6:18, we know that when we read the Bible
today, it is the Lord communicating His will for us to us. In fact, anything taught or
practiced by man in the field of religion outside of what the Bible teaches is a
corrupted teaching, 1 Peter 1:22-23. Since the Bible alone offers all we need to
give us eternal life and to live godly lives, 2 Peter 1:3, going beyond its
teaching will result in judgment, John 12:48-50. |

| God's
foreknowledge led Him to look forward to the establishment of the church --
even before the earth was created, Ephesians 1:4-10; 3:8-9. God's scheme of
redemption is clearly revealed in Revelation 13:8 where He tells of the Lamb
slain from the foundation of the world. See also 1 Peter 1:18-20.
The church is so important
because the church was in God's mind as He allowed His Son to die on the
cross, Isaiah 53:4. In Acts 20:28, it says that Jesus purchased the church
with His own blood.
The Church
of Christ finds it's identifying characteristics within the pages of God's
Word. No creed, books, manuals, catechisms or set of by-laws should be
necessary to identify it. The New Testament alone is its only creed. Nor
should earthly headquarters ever exist, for each church described in the New
Testament was the highest order designed by the Lord.
Churches
of Christ have gathered because the members of the body of Christ follow
the Bible Scriptures in worship, the gospel message & the plan of
salvation and apply it to their daily lives.
Even though today a
person may join a club or a denominational group, he cannot join the the
church of the Bible. When he makes a response to the gospel, the Lord
automatically adds him to His church, Acts 2:41,47. But Jesus Christ cannot
add an unbeliever to His church, Hebrews 11:6; an unrepentant person, Acts
17:30-31; or one who has not been immersed in water, 1 Corinthians 12:13.
If you would like to be a
part of an undenominational group that is humbly striving to be the church one
reads about in the Scriptures, then contact the Lord's church in your area.
Let's restore the Church of Christ as we see it unfolded in the Bible.
